Making the most with your sales in November and December

CHRISTMAS IS COMING

According to the Money Advice Trust’s National Debtline, the average British family spends £800 on their Christmas gift shopping. November and December are prime with opportunities to increase sales. Because of events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, these months are especially lucrative events for retailers and business owners. So how exactly can you reap the rewards in these 2 months?

MAKE WAVES WITH YOUR SALES

Everyone is looking for a way to save a few pennies over Christmas, so this is the best time to make discounts and sales available. If you can offer an incentive for your customers to keep coming back, then even better. There are plenty of ways to spice up a discount to make the deals more inviting for your customers:

  1. A deal a day (advent calendar style)
  2. 1 to 3 day flash sales with massive discounts (50% off, etc)
  3. Offer a free gift with orders over a certain amount

These are just a few ideas, but simple things like this have much more impact on people than just a flat discount.

A HOLIDAY ISN’T JUST FOR CHRISTMAS

Christmas isn’t the only event to build your promotions around. There’s a tonne of different holidays and events that occur throughout the year, and these last 2 months are no exception! Keep your eye on what’s trending on social media, and make sure you’re using hashtags that will spread your social media advertising even further.

With a bit of creative thinking, almost any event or holiday can be tailored to promote your products or business. A new Abba film? Find some products with relevant names or themes and make an Abba bundle for a reduced price. International Men’s Day? A buy one, get one free promotion on men’s care products will go a long way to increase your sales.
