The Power of Cruelty-Free Beauty

Vegan Beauty is Ethical Beauty

Happy World Vegan Day! Beautiful inside and out is the goal of us all, but if you decide to adopt a vegan lifestyle this also extends to the products you use on a daily basis. Vegans not only monitor the food they consume and the clothes they wear, but also the beauty products and the make-up accessories they use daily.

At LCN UK we offer a wide range of Vegan-friendly products so you never need to compromise your beliefs to look your own kind of beautiful.

The Benefits of Vegan Beauty Products

  • You will be avoiding animal by-product including bovine collagen, beeswax and other animal derivatives. If you are ever in any doubt ask for the INCI, these are the actual ingredients found in any beauty product.
  • Vegan beauty products are often considered more kind to sensitive skins since they have fewer ingredients in them.
  • We avoid animal testing on all our products and therefore they are 100 percent cruelty-free.

“Ha!”, I hear you say, “but Vegan products aren’t more expensive to buy?” Well, they certainly can be, especially if they have very few or no artificial preservatives. If this is the case, they are often not available in bulk size as they would go off very quickly.

Take a look at the best after opening sign on your product. This will be your indicator of how much preservative is in the product. It’s the little jar with the open lid. Every registered EU product carries this sign, and inside the jar logo, it may say 6m, 12m or even 36m. The more the months the more preservatives are in in the product.

Waste Not, Want Not

Packaging is also important and where possible we use recycled materials or materials that can be recycled. It is also important to use the right packaging if there are few or no preservatives in your beauty products. The manufacturers need to ensure that the product isn’t exposed to oxygen which will cause it to go ‘off’. So sometimes the packaging is actually the most expensive thing about the product you are buying.

Just because you are a vegan doesn’t mean you have to avoid the beauty salon altogether. Many salons are now switching on to requests from customers for vegan-friendly products. Whether you want to have waxing, manicure, pedicure, facials or massage, all these treatments can be done with vegan products.
